| Geography |
 |
To
the west, the country is bordered from north
to south by the Andes Mountain Range of an
amazing beauty that changes with the variety
of its climates. From the northern desert
mountains with cactus covered slopes crossed
by multicoloured canyons, to the humid and
cold forests of the Patagonian Andes, with
glaciers, snow-covered peaks, dense forests
and lakes of crystalline water.
To the north-east, the "Litoral"
is a region of virgin forests, large rivers
and exuberant flora and fauna, where stunning
natural phenomena can be found such as the
Cataracts of Iguazú.
In the centre extends the "Pampa"
(prairie), an extensive fertile plain that
seems to have no end, where most of the agricultural
and cattle raising activity of the country
is carried out.
To the south, the "Patagonia" offers
a rustic and desert landscape, with a coast
rich in marine species such as penguins, seals
and marine elephants, whales and all kinds
of birds. |

Tourism |
 |
| Argentina
is an ideal country for adventure tourism.
The great variety of natural landscapes, practically
virgin, are superb for trekking, mountain-biking,
mountaineering, white-water rafting, canoeing,
hydro-speeding, rides in 4WD vehicles, hang-gliding,
paragliding, cart-sailing, and windsurfing. |

 |
 |
| Gastronomy |
 |
Argentina
is a cattle-raising country, therefore the
more traditional foods are based on meat.
Among them excels the "Asado" (barbecue),
an exquisite selection of meat cuts roasted
on a "Parrilla (barbecue grill).
In its main cities, especially in Buenos Aires,
there have arisen in recent years excellent
chefs that offer their creations and new restaurants
are permanently inaugurated with new proposals
of international kitchen.
The visitors can easily find restaurants specialised
in foods from all parts of the world: Chinese,
Japanese, Vietnamese, Armenian, Arabian, French,
etc. |
